Global Head of HR Excellence ABB Asea Brown Boveri Ltd
Dirk has been taking a career that started in finance and management roles in Pension Scheme, Cost Controlling, Sales & Marketing, as HR Manager, Country Head HR-Development and Co-country HR Manager for Switzerland before joining ABB Group Headquarter in early 2006.
After having developed global development programs as group manager Learning & Development Dirk became Global Head of Talent Management. In this capacity he developed and implemented the group ABB talent management model including the global ABB performance and development appraisal solution.
In 2009 based on his broad experience he was asked to build the new Group Function HR Excellence. The Group Function today contains 10 corporate + 8 region managers and global HR Operations with roughly 1’000 employees in 86 countries and a 100MUSD functional cost budget. Main focus in HR Excellence is on running global HR Centers, continuously adjusting and improving HRprocesses and services according to business strategy, developing a global integrative HRSystem architecture and exploiting ABB’s global scale and synergies. He is reporting to the Executive Committee member, responsible for HR.
Dirk graduated in Business Administration in Switzerland and got a dual degree as Executive MBA from Universities of Rochester (US) and Bern (CH).
